Concrete Tracker

Ready-mix concrete was a key feature in this project for adding quality and safety for hotel guests. Ready-mix covers approximately 60,000 square feet of the parking lot, and was selected for its strength, ease of maintenance, lower lifecycle cost, and light reflectivity. In addition to the parking lot surface, ready mix was utilized for the sidewalks and curbs. The curbing shapes decorative planting beds. These planting areas not only help break up the parking lot, but add visual appeal and provide a place to locate lighting. A significant amount of formwork was necessary to install the many planters.

The area was poured with a 4,500 psi, air entrained mix with macro synthetic fibers. Fibers were chosen so a laser screed could easily maneuver through the poured concrete without the need of moving around and lifting rebar, which would slow installation and increase labor costs. A laser screed was used for its ability to quickly level the surface. The parking lot and curbs were poured within a single month.
